A woman caught driving nearly four times over the limit stopped her car after being bamboozled by road cones as she made her way home from the Waikato Hunt ball last night.
A post on the Te Awamutu Police Facebook page detailing the overindulgence of this "Cinderella" said the woman blew 965 micrograms per millilitre of breath when stopped by the Road Policing unit.
"Our Cinderella overindulged at the Hunt ball at Mystery Creek," the post read.
"As she was leaving she nearly ran a security guard off the road. I'm guessing she was rushing to get home before she turned into a pumpkin.
"Unfortunately for her; and fortunately for other road users, a few well placed road cones at the Airport road intersection roadworks confused her to such an extent she had to stop her car."
The post included a check-list detailing the chain of events which led to the woman being breathalised.
