Drug's price tumbles

Government drug funder Pharmac says there will now be open access to the cholesterol-lowering drug atorvastatin, after a 90 per cent price reduction.

Restrictions on atorvastatin would be removed from September 1, allowing any clinician to prescribe it for patients, taking into account cardiovascular guidelines.
