Up to $1.5 million worth of methamphetamine has been found inside baby carriers and neck ties at Auckland Airport.
Customs officials found approximately 1.5kg of the Class A drug hidden in the ties and colourful baby carriers.
The carriers have the words "Sweet Baby" and a smiling teddy bear drawn across the front.
A 20-year-old man from Latvia has been arrested and charged with importing the drug in his luggage. He appeared in the Manukau District Court this afternoon.
Customs investigation manager, Maurice O'Brien, said: "In this instance, it was very good work from our airport officers in profiling the passenger and inspecting his baggage contents. Customs continues to focus on high-risk passengers and goods and every seizure is a win and success for us.
