There are encouraging signs for those suffering as a result of the ongoing drought.
Weatherwatch head weather analyst Philip Duncan says while recent rain has been of some relief, there are still large chunks of the country which have had little to no rain.
He says there will be no quick fix for those areas, but forecasts are showing an increase in small rain fronts and low pressure bands making their way over the country.
"Every single day now, we've got showers or rain in the forecast for at least one region.
"It's a huge change from a month ago, and we're also seeing the chance of a couple of subtropical lows, even just in the first week of April."
