The Government has announced assistance for drought-stricken Hawke's Bay farmers.
Agriculture Minister David Carter says despite rain falling in many parts of the country recently, Hawke's Bay is into its third consecutive autumn drought and a medium-level drought has been declared.
Among the help available for affected farmers is tax assistance and funding for farm management advice.
A similar assistance package has already been announced for farmers in Gisborne.
