KEY POINTS:
Economy-driving experts John and Helen Taylor have driven a Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot - standard production vehicles with 2.0-litre turbo diesel engines, carrying two people and their luggage - from London to Berlin on less than a single tank of fuel each.
They drove the two vehicles 1059km between the two European capitals, and after arriving in Berlin, there was enough fuel left in both cars for them to cross the border into Poland.
