A 24-year-old Whakatane man has appeared in court facing charges in relation to a car crash which resulted in the death of Masterton woman Shannon Buick, 23.
Shannon's teenage sister, Kaitlin, 16, was seriously injured in the head-on crash on Paierau Rd on August 30. Shane William Hart appeared before a registrar in Masterton District Court yesterday entering no plea to charges of careless driving causing death and careless driving causing injury. Hart's lawyer Phillip Drummond told the court his client would be ready to plead to the charges at his next appearance.
Hart was remanded at large to appear before a judge on March 17.
