Police today named two drivers killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles near Cromwell.
They were Roger Bruce Bryant, aged 55, of Queenstown and Sandra Jean Dunlop, aged 32, of Alexandra, who died yesterday after one car struck a glancing blow to another before crashing head-on into a third.
The accident occurred on State Highway 6 at 4.20pm, about 1km on the Cromwell side of the Kawarau Bungy Bridge.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the fatal smash.
Three people were also injured in the accident. Two were flown to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter, the other was taken by ambulance.
Meanwhile, Hamilton police have released the name of the cyclist killed when he was hit by a van on Queens Ave in Hamilton on Friday.
He was Marcel Roy Lemmens, 22, of Hamilton.
Police have interviewed the driver of the van. They are waiting for the results of several crash reports before deciding what charges will be laid.
