The controversy over cow dung polluting Wairarapa roads is not about to go away with the latest complaints to the Wairarapa Times-Age coming in from people travelling Carterton's back roads.
Sealed and unsealed roads in the Parkvale area have been heavily splattered with dung.
Many other areas of both Wairarapa and Tararua fall victim to heavy dung deposits as some farmers either don't have or don't use roadside races to shift cows.
Whereas farmers defend their right to shift stock along roads, drivers are not so quick to forgive the road pollution which not only causes vehicles to become filthy but damages road seal, with ratepayers throughout the wider district having ultimately to meet the cost of replacing the seal.
