Driver trapped in vehicle after accident by school

Emergency services are working to free the driver of a car after it and a school bus collided outside a Rodney district primary school this morning.

Police were called to the crash outside Taupaki Primary School, Taupaki, just before 9am.

Fire services arrived shortly after and found the driver trapped in the car.

A fire spokesman told APNZ there were two occupants in the car, but the passenger had escaped without any injuries.

"I don't believe there are any serious injuries to the driver," he said.

The spokesman said no children on the bus were injured.
