A Timaru man has been ordered to pay $25,000 reparation to the family of a woman who died when he hit her vehicle and spun it into the path of an Army Unimog truck.
John Sinclair Forrest, 61, a dairyworker, has also been banned from driving for 12 months for careless driving causing injury and careless driving causing death.
Forrest, who was driving to Christchurch for the funeral of an Army colleague on June 24, hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Beth Jennifer Jones. Her son, 3, was hurt.
