A van ended up in Otago Harbour after going off Portobello Rd at Edwards Bay yesterday.
The driver, a 42-year-old woman, was taken to Dunedin Hospital as a precaution.
She was driving towards Dunedin when it appeared she crossed the centre line on a blind corner and went into the harbour, Senior Constable Lox Kellas said.
Alcohol and speed were factors being investigated, he said.
The Otago Peninsula resident was cold but otherwise unhurt.
