An Auckland truck driver is in a stable condition after his truck rolled near Te Kuiti in the middle of the North Island late last night.
The man, believed to be 57, was in a stable condition in Waikato Hospital after being flown there by the Westpac rescue helicopter.
He was first taken by road ambulance to Te Kuiti Hospital and transferred by air to Waikato.
Police said he lost control on a bend on SH4 and his truck rolled.
He crawled from the truck wreckage and was found by emergency services with serious head and chest injuries in a ditch.
