A fleeing driver has rammed a police car, before threatening officers with a knife in Henderson today.
A witness has described seeing the fleeing car slam into the driver's side of a police vehicle in the Auckland suburb this morning.
The man, who doesn't want to be named, said he was driving to the airport about 8.15am, when he noticed a small grey car with four passengers drive past.
From the intersection of Great North Rd and McLeod Rd, the witness noticed there was a police car ahead of the grey car, driving in the same direction.
"I heard a lot of sirens, but then I saw a police car drive past without its sirens or lights on," he said.
