A car which rolled and hit a tree head-on south of Auckland at the weekend lost control on a patch of black ice, emergency services say.
A woman, believed to be in her 50s, a teenage girl, and a boy were all injured in the smash near Maramarua Golf Course early on Saturday morning, in which the driver had to be cut out of the wreckage.
The woman and the teenager were taken to Middlemore Hospital by helicopter, while the boy was taken to hospital by ambulance, the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter said.
The crash happened at 6.30am on Saturday, a police spokeswoman said.
The Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter had to land on the Maramarua Golf Course to assist at the scene.
