Driver killed in head on crash named

Police have named the driver killed in a head-on crash in the eastern Bay of Plenty on Friday.

He was Dheenadayalu Naidoo, 60, of Auckland.

The crash happened on State Highway 30 at Lake Rotoma, 35km east of Rotorua, about 4.15pm.

The driver of the second car is still in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital.

Whakatane police serious crash team are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
