KEY POINTS:
The driver of a truck carrying a large container of flour was injured when the truck crashed into a bank near Stratford in Taranaki this morning.
Constable Mark Taylor said the truck was heading west on Opunake Rd when it lost control on a downhill corner and crashed into a bank.
The trailer jack-knifed and dumped the container on the road but it remained intact.
Mr Taylor said the driver was taken by ambulance to Taranaki Base Hospital with suspected fractures.
The road was temporarily blocked and heavy machinery was brought in to clear the wreckage.
