A man was taken to hospital in serious condition after a medical event caused him to drive into a building in central Auckland this morning.
The man drove his van into a building on the corner of New North Rd and Bond St shortly before 7am, a Fire Service spokeswoman said.
The man had to be cut out of his van and was taken to hospital in serious condition by St John Ambulance, she said.
A police spokesman said the man was in serious condition as a result of a medical event, not injuries which occurred as a result of the crash.
Fire Service left the scene at 7.30am.
