The driver of a car involved in a crash on Pakowhai Rd near Hastings last weekend has died.
Janine Mudgway, 43, of Hastings, was taken to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital in a critical condition after the crash on Saturday. She died in hospital today.
The crash was being investigated by the Police Serious Crash Unit. Police have spoken to the driver of a truck also involved in the collision. He received minor injuries in the crash.
Police would still like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision at the intersection of Pakowhai Rd and Richmond Rd about 12.30pm on Saturday. Anyone with information should contact Constable Ben How at at Hastings police on 06 8730500.
