Driver hurt after post slams through car

A man was seriously injured when a wooden post slammed through the middle of his car yesterday.

The car had veered across State Highway 1 near Tirau at about 3.20pm and into a post-and-rail fence.

Earlier in the day, a 37-year-old was fatally injured when he was thrown out of his ute as it hit a bank on State Highway 23, near Raglan.

On Saturday morning, a truck driver was killed after his vehicle rolled on Great South Rd in Auckland.
