KEY POINTS:
A 26-year-old Queenstown man who should not have been able to do "anything other than lie down" was yesterday convicted of driving with a breath-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.
Daniel William Bicknell, 26, plasterer, admitted driving in Glenorchy Rd on May 18 with a breath-alcohol level of 1323mcg.
The legal limit is 400mcg. Judge Dominic Flatley said Bicknell's level was "unbelievably high.
It's extremely surprising you could do anything other than lie down". Bicknell was sentenced to 100 hours' community work and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
