A driver who sped away after failing to stop for police in Lower Hutt has crashed into a power pole and fled on foot.
Police are still seeking the driver, who sped away from police on Oxford Terrace about 12.24am in a Nissan Pulsar.
Shortly after, police came across the car which had crashed into a power pole on the corner of Oxford Terrace and Epuni St.
The power pole was down and the driver and occupants had left on foot.
A 19-year-old male, who was an occupant of the vehicle, was arrested on unrelated offences.
