A single-car crash on a rural Waikato road has turned out to be less serious than emergency services first thought.
Police and the Fire Service received reports of a person trapped in a crashed car on Te Pahu Rd, near Karamu, at about 11am.
However, when they arrived the sole occupant of the car was out of the vehicle.
The person also managed to escape the crash without serious injury but was taken by ambulance to hospital for a check-up.
The vehicle required towing.
