A Korean driver who crashed his tourist coach escaped a custodial sentence at Tokoroa District Court yesterday. Seong Won Lee, 40, was convicted on 13 counts of careless driving causing injury after an accident near Tokoroa in February.
Three young women had their right arms amputated after the crash. Lee was given 100 hours community service, banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay reparations of $1000 to each of the three amputees.
