A man in his 20s died in a crash in Christchurch this morning.
The driver was the only person in a car that collided with a 4WD vehicle at the intersection of Shands Rd and Blakes Rd, near Prebbleton, about 7.30am.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff.
Initial inquiries indicated the 4WD was travelling south on Shands Rd and the other car was travelling west on Blakes Rd, police said.
The driver and sole occupant of the 4WD was not believed to be injured but had been taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
