Police have charged the driver of a van in a fatal crash last week with careless driving causing death.
Police said the driver would appear in Hamilton District Court today and would also face two charges of careless driving causing injury.
Elizabeth Iavman, 58, died when the van rolled several times while attempting to overtake a furniture removal truck near Ngatea on Wednesday morning.
The van, carrying five people, was part of a convoy of vehicles carrying people to the airport to fly home to Vanuatu.
Mrs Iavman had just finished a six-month stint in New Zealand as a kiwifruit worker and was returning home to her four daughters.
