An Auckland man is in Middlemore Hospital recovering from serious facial injuries after three youths attacked him with a hammer before making off with his vehicle.
"It happened very quickly, very viciously and very violently," Detective Peter Law said of the attack which occurred in Russell Rd in Manurewa yesterday morning.
He said North Shore police stopped the car in Glenfield about 9.30am and found two of the youths.
