A Central Otago teenager who blew more than five times the breath alcohol limit was driving to a bottle shop to buy more alcohol, say police.
The 18-year-old Cromwell woman blew 770mcg per litre of breath when she was stopped in the town last week, Sergeant Philip Vink told the Southland Times.
The legal limit for someone under 20 is 150mcg and her driver's licence was immediately suspended.
The woman is expected to appear in Alexandra District Court next month.
