A woman whose drink-driving sent a parked car flying into a power pole was convicted in the Masterton District Court yesterday.
Adrienne Jade Rangi, 29, pleaded guilty to careless driving and driving with excess breath-alcohol, being a third or subsequent offence.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Tom Andrews said Rangi had beendriving in Masterton at about 1.55am on Saturday June 20. She had driven into Kuripuni St and hit a car parked on the north side of the road.
Mr Andrews said the impact lifted the car off the ground and into a power pole.
Rangi was spoken to by police near the car and had denied being the driver.
She was breath tested at a level of 845mcg, twice the criminal limit of 400mcg, after which she admitted being the driver of the car but said she could not remember driving it.
Judge Barbara Morris remanded Rangi on bail until October 28 for sentence, ordering a probation report to address alcohol use.
Rangi's bail conditions included to abstain from alcohol and submit to a breath test if asked by police.
