Last Saturday saw the men playing the first round of matches in the Dove Trophy. There were two close matches. Doug Leach had to go to the 19th hole to take the win over Mark Logan. In the club's medal competition, Geoff Peck had the day's best return of 61 nett in the second group. Jeremy Harp was the runner-up on 63. In the first group, Bruce Herangi led the way with a 65 nett to head off Rodney Dravitzki by two strokes.
Sunday's club competition was a stableford round, and it saw a tie at the top with Kevin May and Byron Karaitiana both recording 44 points, with Brian Chappell on 43.
On Tuesday, the veterans group played in a medal competition. In the women's, Cilva Richmond had the best return of 50 nett in winning the second group, from Daphne Jordan on 52. In the first group, Janet Shaw had the best score of 53 nett, one better than Jean Bayly and Maria Lauvi.
The men's best score was 52 nett, returned by Graeme Bound in the second group, with Bruce Wilson runner-up on 53. In the first group, Ray Loader was at the top of the standings with a more moderate 55 nett, with Blair Harvey the runner-up on 57.
Today sees the men's interclub teams in action, with the division 7 team playing at the Boulcotts Farm Heritage Golf Club team at their course, while the new division 11 team will be playing Pauatahanui at home. The club competition will be a stableford round.
Martinborough
Women's Opening Day saw 48 taking part in a great atmosphere. The Pro-Am on February 10 saw the best score from Douglas Holloway with a gross 63. The winning team on 102 points, representing Martinborough Transport, was Josh and Daniel Hawkins and Robert Smith.
Featherston
Sunday was normal club day. Men's par round winners were first place Keith Willis +7 and second and third placing Allen Bennett and Charlie Preistley +6.
