The man wrongly imprisoned for the rape and abduction of an Auckland schoolgirl in the nineties, will be sentenced in Palmerston North today on burglary charges.
David Dougherty was acquitted of the serious charges in 1997 after serving three years behind bars.
The 43-year-old last year admitted breaking into the house of what he claimed to be an associate who owed money.
Another burglary charge and two theft charges will also be dealt with today.
Dougherty has spent all of the $868,000 compensation he received from the Government following the acquittal.
