Two men connected to Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom have been banned from using the internet while on bail.
The FBI is seeking to extradite the German millionaire Kim Schmitz, otherwise known as Kim Dotcom, and three associates, Finn Batato, Bram van der Kolk, and Mathias Ortmann to the United States after the closure of file-sharing website Megaupload on January 19.
The four face charges of conspiring to commit racketeering, conspiring to commit money laundering, copyright infringement, and aiding and abetting copyright infringement in the US.
Batato, 38, and van der Kolk, 29, appeared in North Shore District Court today and were due to be released on bail but the process was delayed as reports for their bail addresses have not been completed.
The men have been banned from using or owning any device capable of connecting to the internet.
