A teenager ran into a glass door and fell to the ground while trying to escape after an aggravated robbery in South Auckland yesterday.
The teen is one of two young people who allegedly robbed the Gull service station in the early hours of yesterday morning after threatening an attendant with a piece of wood and a fire extinguisher.
Detective Sergeant John Love said the teens left the store with cash and cigarettes but one ran straight into a glass door on his way out.
After picking himself up, he and the other teen left the service station in a car, followed by police.
Mr Love said a 16- and 17-year-old were arrested and a third person, believed to be the driver of the getaway car, was helping police with their inquiries.
The two teens are due to appear in the Manukau District Court charged with aggravated robbery.
Mr Love said police had recovered most of the stolen items.
