People in the upper North Island will need a jacket and umbrella as wet weather sweeps the country this week.
Metservice duty forecaster Frances Russell said a ridge over the country would bring showers from today, but the weather would not be "particularly cold".
"A wet front sitting over the upper North Island will be bringing some showers to Northland, Auckland and the Coromandel."
A low over the Tasman from tomorrow would also bring a norwester and more showers.
Though no weather warnings were in place, rainfall had the potential to intensify in Taranaki, eastern Bay of Plenty and northern Gisborne until Thursday.
