Masterton police arrested and charged two men on Saturday after unrelated incidents involving domestic violence.
A Carterton woman was taken to hospital for assessment and treatment during the first incident involving police late on Saturday afternoon, acting sergeant Tony Matheson said.
He said a man was arrested and kept in custody and a charge of male assaults female may be upgraded, depending on the severity of the woman's injuries.
He said another man was arrested in Masterton about 10.30pm on Saturday in an unrelated incident of domestic violence. The man was charged with male assaults female and was also kept in custody.
He said a 35-year-old woman was arrested early on Saturday afternoon and charged with shoplifting at The Warehouse in Masterton.
