A domestic spat led to an armed offenders callout in Featherston this evening after reports of a gun being produced.
Police are speaking to a 47-year-old man after the altercation between residents of a house in Brandon St earlier this evening.
"There was a mention of a firearm linked to the incident and as a precautionary measure the police armed offenders squad were deployed from Wellington," Inspector Marty Parker said.
Police phoned other residents in the street and told them to stay inside while police dealt with the situation, he said.
It is understood local police apprehended the man before the AOS arrived.
