Police were called to a domestic dispute in Whakatane in which one person was injured after reports of a stabbing.
The incident occurred at 8pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to the scene after it was reported one person stabbed another person known to them
One person sustained minor injuries to the face, but it was not confirmed if anyone was stabbed.
A police safety order was issued to one person.
