It's a new take on whale riding as this bottlenose dolphin is captured on film hitching a ride on the nose of a humpback.
Remarkable images were captured in two locations in Hawaiian waters of whales lifting dolphins out of the water with their heads, and then the dolphins sliding back down.
The two species seemed to co-operate in the activity, and neither displayed signs of aggression or distress - scientists believe the act is a game between the cetacean friends.
Whales and dolphins in Hawaiian waters often interact, but playful social activity such as this was extremely rare between species.
The images were posted online recently by the American Museum of Natural History.
