A person walking a dog in the Taupo park has found $7000 worth of cannabis.
The dog walker found the cannabis in a plastic bag in Whakaipo Scenic Reserve and called police who discovered a second bag also containing cannabis.
Detective Allan Humphries said there was enough plants and leaves to fill a 20-litre bucket, the Daily Post in Rotorua reported.
He appealed to anyone seeing suspicious activity, people or vehicles in the area over the past two weeks to contact police.
