Dog that attacked former All White to be put down

The dog that attacked former All White Stu Jacobs will be put down later this afternoon.

The Wellington City Council says the investigation is continuing into whether or not to lay charges against the animal's owner.

Mr Jacobs suffered bites to his arms, legs and hands, and required 37 stitches after being savaged by the Bull Mastiff on the grounds of Rongotai College yesterday. He tried to break up a fight between the Bull Mastiff and a Labrador.

Mr Jacobs says he understands it is the third time the dog has attacked a person.
