A dog has been rescued from a fire in an Auckland apartment block this afternoon.
The pooch was pulled from the second-floor apartment by firefighters called to the scene just after 12pm.
It is not yet known what caused the blaze at the three-storey apartment building, close to Main Highway in Ellerslie, the Fire Service said.
Numerous reports had been phoned in on the 111 emergency number, and crews responded quickly, northern fire communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said.
There were no reports of any injuries, he said.
