Motorists and beach-goers are again being urged to keep an eye on a king tide that has caused issues in recent days.
The MetService said the fine weather over most of the North Island had nothing to do with a king tide that has led to flooded roads around Auckland and strong currents in beaches towards Northland. The worst appeared to be over, however.
Forecaster Mads Naeraa-Piers said: "According to the tide almanac, it's Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday you will see a king tide - so [today] is the last day of king tides.
"Thankfully, the weather is not showing any bad signs.
"You'll need strong on-shore north-easterlies and low pressure over the North Island for king tides to happen there, but this is just caused by the moon."
