Talks scheduled to resume today between junior doctors and district health boards will not go ahead for at least a month.
DHB spokesman Spiro Anastasiou told NZPA the negotiations between the two groups over a contract dispute would continue once a date convenient to both had been found.
"At this stage it doesn't seem that it will be this month," Mr Anastasiou said.
About 2500 junior doctors went on a five-day strike after contract talks over pay and working conditions broke down in June.
