Environmental campaigners disrupting oil exploration off the East Cape are standing in the way of "better jobs and better incomes" for New Zealanders, says Prime Minister John Key.
Greenpeace protestors with flags saying "Stop Deep Sea Oil" swam in front of the Petrobras survey ship Orient Explorer near the Raukumara Basin on Sunday.
It was forced to change course and halt seismic testing, Greenpeace climate campaigner Steve Abel said.
