Eight complaints have been lodged with the Human Rights Commission after a Wellington DJ suggested some Indian night-clubbers were "rapists" with bad dress sense.
DJ Neill Andrews, owner of Famous nightclub, said he regretted if Indians in general were offended but he maintained that night clubs had problems with men sexually harassing women.
"Just because we don't let groups of creepy Indian rapists into the club doesn't make us racist, they also don't buy alcohol," he wrote on December 30.
"Probably so they can be sober enough to tie up the sack and lift the body into the back of their hybrid taxi, while wearing oversized leather jackets and sports shoes."
The Facebook post was deleted but sparked outrage, including from Race Relations Commissioner Dame Susan Devoy.
