The son of samurai sword attacker Antonie Dixon today had a drug charge against him dropped in Auckland District Court.
Tony Damon Nicholls, 21, had faced a single count of possession to supply methamphetamine, the same drug that fuelled Dixon's attack in 2003.
However, the charge, which followed Nicholls' arrest in central Auckland two months ago, was withdrawn by leave today.
In January 2003, Dixon shot dead a stranger after attacking two women with a samurai sword.
He died in February in Auckland Prison at Paremoremo while awaiting sentence after a jury in a retrial found him guilty of several charges, including murder.
