A heavy goods vehicle and a car have collided on the north-western outskirts of Christchurch, and an occupant of the car is being treated for injuries.
The incident happened about 10.24am on Johns Rd (SH1).
The serious crash unit is at the scene.
Diversions are in place at Johns Rd/ Main North Rd and Johns Rd/Gardiners Rd while the scene is examined and cleared.
Members of the public should avoid the area, police said.
