A Carterton teenager who threatened teachers over Facebook was given police diversion.
Nicholas Scott, 18, avoided a conviction and the charge was withdrawn.
At an appearance in Masterton District Court last month police prosecutor Garry Wilson said Scott made intimidating Facebook posts, which talked about seeking revenge on the Kuranui College principal and teachers, whom he named.
The Facebook page displayed a photograph of him brandishing a firearm and wearing a bandana.
Defence lawyer Virginia Pearson said what had happened had been a "huge wake-up call" for the young man.
