Police divers yesterday searched a West Auckland creek for a knife used to stab a teenager repeatedly.
The 18-year-old victim remained in a critical condition last night after undergoing surgery for stab wounds to his stomach and back.
Police said the victim and two other men had been drinking at Tui Glen Reserve in Henderson before the attack.
Members of the Wellington-based police dive squad spent yesterday searching Henderson Creek near the reserve but did not find a weapon.
A 17-year-old has been charged with assault.
