Police have found a body on the Manawatū River after alerted to an unmanned dinghy on Monday morning.
At around 4.15pm on Monday the Dive Squad found a body, believed to be the man seen on the dinghy earlier that morning.
Police were contacted at 8.35 that morning after the dinghy was found with the motor running and no one on board, in a part of the Manawatū River known as The Loop, near Foxton.
The alarm was raised because a man had been seen in the dinghy earlier that morning.
Police searched the area, along with Coastguard members and the Police National Dive Squad. A helicopter from Palmerston North was also utilised.
